Fulshear Scarecrow Festival
Full-size scarecrows are the main attraction at the Fulshear Scarecrow Festival, but this carnival is full of all types of fall fun. Families can enjoy pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, face painting and a costume parade. There will also be traditional carnival entertainment, food, rides and games. Wristbands are on sale for $5 per person.

5th Annual A Night a Market Square
After spending the afternoon with the kids, parents can enjoy an adult’s night in Houston at the A Night at Market Square event. For the fifth year residents and visitors can explore Houston’s Historic District while enjoying food, live music, shopping and games. At 9pm there will also be a live comedy show with a house band.

Wings Over Houston Airshow
Kids of all ages will be amazed by the skill and daring feats of the pilots at the Wings Over Houston Airshow. For more than 30 years the show has attracted thousands of spectators that are eager to see some of the best flying in the world. This year’s show will include the Breitling Jet Team, Texas Flying Legends, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, WWII Warbirds and the Super Hornet Demonstration Team. There will also be aircraft to tour, museum exhibits and helicopter rides.

12th Annual Dragon Boat Regatta in Sugar Land
Residents in the communities of Prestwick at Riverstone, Providence at Riverstone and Imperial Sugar Land can enjoy one of the area’s most unique October events just a few miles from home. The 12th Annual Gulf Coast International Dragon Boat Regatta is a free event that brings out some of the best race teams in the state. There are races every 15-20 minutes but there will also be plenty of other events, food and music to keep the family entertained all day.

Island Oktoberfest in Galveston
Historic downtown Galveston will be transformed into an Oktoberfest fairground for two days at the end of October. It’s an event everyone in the family can enjoy with live music from the Grammy-winning Alex Meixner band, traditional German food, polka dancing, arts and crafts booths, a chicken dance contest and much more. This is one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the area and one of the premier fall festivals in all of Houston.
