Breaking ground on a new home in the Amorosa at Cibolo Canyon is an exciting time. Here are the major steps you’ll encounter while building a home with Sitterle. Rest assured we have the best of reputations for building new homes in San Antonio.

Site Preparation Begins

The design process is complete and the beautiful choices have been made. You love where your new home will be set and are ready for the land you’ve chosen to be prepped and become the site of your new home. Expect a lot of heavy equipment to come with this stage. Workers will be busy clearing, excavating, and leveling the lot according to your plan. The outline of your home will take shape.

Foundation and Framing

Workers pour the concrete slab of your foundation, and then floors, walls, and roof will be “framed” out with wood. You can think of this as the skeleton of your home. After that, exterior finishes like plywood and energy efficient house wrap will be applied to seal off the inside from the outside. Now that your home has its basic structure, workers can begin filling it with the things that make it function and look like a home. Heating and cooling units, plumbing lines, and electrical systems will be put into place. Shortly after that, insulation, drywall, and walls will be next on the schedule.

It Starts to Look Like a Home

This is the phase where your house will start to look more like a home. Luxurious wood flooring is installed and the quality cabinets will be hung. The lovely details you have chosen trim and moldings will be installed. High-quality paint will start to go on the walls and you can finally get excited about how your furniture and artwork will be arranged in this home. Delivery trucks will make frequent stops at the site during this end stage. Now is the time when workers begin installing faucets, countertops, light fixtures, and appliances. Your yard will also undergo a lovely, natural, Hill Country transformation with native plants as a final, charming touch.

Closing On Your Home

The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived. The final days are within reach, but not before you have done a “Walk Through” of the home.  In addition to inspecting it and making sure that everything is right and as it should be, make sure that all of your expectations are documented on your punch list. Once this final work is done, breath in that new home smell and enjoy your gorgeous new place!
