Sitterle Salutes Honoring Wounded Warrior Project in 2013, Aviara Community of the Week

October 1, 2013    By: Sitterle Homes

Each year Sitterle Homes gives something back to the community by raising funds for a service-based non-profit organization. The benefactor of this year’s Sitterle Salutes is Wounded Warrior Project®, a nationwide effort to help severely injured service men and women and their families heal and transition back to civilian life.

“Over the last 50 years Sitterle Homes has built thousands of homes in San Antonio for military families. As a company we are proud of our history with service men and women. But, above all, we are very thankful to them for their service,” said Frank Sitterle, Jr, co-owner and San Antonio co-chair for Sitterle Salutes.

From October 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, Sitterle Homes will salute veterans in San Antonio, Austin and Houston by volunteering and contributing to local charities. On November 7, Sitterle Homes will host a fundraising event and auction at the Campanas Clubhouse in San Antonio; all proceeds from this event and other marketing efforts will go to Wounded Warrior Project.

In coming years, Sitterle Salutes will recognize other organizations that are in service to their communities. In 2012, Sitterle Homes raised funds for sheltered animals with proceeds going to the San Antonio Humane Society and the Animal Defense League.

During the campaign, Sitterle Homes will focus attention on communities located throughout the San Antonio area. Aviara, located in Westover Hills near Lackland Air Force, is the community of the week. Currently in a close-out,gated Aviara is situated on the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Course, and it has quick access to shopping, entertainment and major employment centers. Students attend Evers Elementary School, Jordan Middle School and Warren High School in the Northside Independent School District.

Single-family homes at Aviara are priced from the $330,000s on 65-foot home sites, and a separate collection of homes on 80-ft lots are priced from the $370,000s. The three- and four-bedroom plans range in size from 2,500 sq. ft. to over 3,800 sq. ft. Nine plans available on 80-ft. lots have 3-car garages. While design features vary per plan, Sitterle’s High Performance Homes are approximately 63 percent more efficient than a 15- to 20- year-old home and 33 percent more efficient than a new home built to standard codes that incorporate some energy-efficient measures.

Headquartered in San Antonio since 1964, Sitterle Homes currently builds luxurious homes in San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Sitterle offers a broad spectrum of home designs including single-family homes, luxury garden homes and custom homes. Sitterle has won numerous awards for home design, energy efficiency and customer service, including the AVID Award for Best Customer Service in North America in 2010-2011 and the AVID Award for Best Customer Service (Regional) in 2013.
